Hey guys,
This post is not about my QPR story, but about a funny goal that I’ve scored in my other save with Feyenoord.
Here it is:
This post is not about my QPR story, but about a funny goal that I’ve scored in my other save with Feyenoord.
Here it is:
In this post it is time to reveal the transfers before starting my third season with QPR. I will also show you my results in the first 2 months, August and September, in the league, Carling Cup and the Europa League!
Transfers
A lot of useless players were sold and so I got 24M extra! Let’s discuss most important transfers out: Daniel Pudil is sold because he wasn’t good enough and after getting him on a free transfer last year, selling him now for 3M isn’t bad. Joey Barton is sold because of poor performances last year. Matthew Connoly has the same story as Barton: poor performances led to a transfer to Stoke. Ondrej Kusnir is sold with a loss of 400K because he got a terrible injury last year and he fell back in his stats. Not good enough anymore so sold. Friedrich was getting old and his stats started to decrease. Petar Zanev is sold because I found 4M a good bid and he wasn’t a first squad player anyway.
Now the transfers in:
Sinan Bolat
A really good, young goalkeeper. His contract expired at Belgian side Standard and I couldn’t resist. He is better than Samassa and Jääskeläinen so he will be my first keeper.
John O’Shea
A really good, experienced defender that can be used on a lot of different positions. He does cost a lot of wage but his experience will be decisive in the big games and when having a lot of injuries, he can be important because of his versatility.
Leonel Galeano
A very talented central defender, even played a game for the Argentinian national team! He is young, talented, strong, good in the air, has good tackling abilities, pretty quick for a central defender… A perfect replacement for the old Friedrich!
Benoît Assou-Ekotto
Couldn’t find a good left back that wanted to join me so had to settle for this decent one. Transfer listed by the Spurs, 2.5M isn’t that much but I hope to buy a better left back in either the winter transfer period or next year.
Jack Cork
Good midfielder, was the best player based on average rating last year in the Championship and a good replacement for Joey Barton in my opinion. Also young, so he can stay here for a lot of years. Will be used in a rotation system with Collison and Diamé. Love his mental abilities by the way!
Lucas Andersen
Brilliant youngster from Denmark, will be important in the future I believe. Now Siem de Jong and Adel Taarabt are better but this 18-year old will soon get a first squad player I think! Not expensive either!
Carlos Vela
A personal favourite of me in FM 2011, not because of incredible attributes but he always played good for me when I had him in my team! Hope he will do the same in this edition of FM. He will be used as a backup for left winger Chadli and striker Sanogo.
I also signed Conor Coady as a backup player for central defenders and defensive midfielders, Thorgan Hazard on a free and immediately loaned him out to feeder team Gillingham and Ibrahima Tanda as backup for Chadli and Albrighton on the wings. These are all young and cheap players.
I’m not really happy with this transfer period. I wanted to sign another central defender to play next to Galeano, wanted to buy a better left back as well and was searching for a good right winger but couldn’t find either of them that wanted to join me. But we are stronger than last year I believe. Now let’s go for the CL!
League
Not bad, 9 out of 12. Was dissapointed because of the first league match against Everton, they had a massive 60% possession and had much more chances and deserved the win. But luckily we improved in the next matches. Sanogo hasn’t scored yet in the league but he will score later, I’m sure. Chadli has a very good start, with 3 goals in 3 matches. We played good matches against Sunderland, Villa and Watford and I feel like we can win big matches as well this year if we just improve a little bit more. The top 4 is possible.
Number 8, but we are 1 or 2 games behind the teams that are in the top 7. So the 8th place is not representative.
Carling Cup
A true thriller against Sheffield United, but we did win against the Championship side at Bramall Lane. We took the lead, gave it away, took it again, gave it away again, took a lead of 2 goals, gave even that away!, and finally scored the match winning goal thanks to an awesome Chadli in the 120+2 minute!!!! We played with the first squad so conceding 4 goals against a Championship team got me pretty angry. But the game was brilliant to watch! Next is Chelsea: our big rivals. Luckily it is at Loftus Road so we have a chance of getting to the next round. I want to win either the League Cup or FA Cup so I will definitely play with my first team against Chelsea and try to win! I hope to see a game like the Sheffield game, and win in the end!
Euro League
In the 4th qualifying round we played the Ukranian side Vorskla and won easily. So we made it to the group stage, which is nice, but not good enough ofcourse. I’m going for the quarter finals and reaching the semi finals or getting even further will be a nice addition.
We are in a group with LOSC Lille Métropole, the 2010-2011 competition winners of France. They have a good team and still have the big star Eden Hazard in their team, so they will be my toughest opponent. Aberdeen is a tough opponent but we’re better and should win both matches against them if we want to progress in this league. And Ajax… Big rivals of my favourite team Feyenoord, so I’m really keen to win this double confrontation. I just HAVE to win those matches, otherwise I’ll probably jump in front of a train..
Other
Chadli is awesome so far. I hope he can keep this up trough the whole season! Sanogo isn’t performing that bad, but hasn’t scored a league goal yet. Luckily, Chadli does and in the end it doesn’t matter who scores, as long as someone does! Cork, Collison, Galeano, Assou-Ekotto and Diamé are performing good as well. I expect much more from Siem de Jong, Kyle Walker and Marc Albrighton. Especially Walker who hasn’t played a single good match since I bought him from Blackburn in January. I might let O’Shea start more often because of Walker underperforming.
This will, if I don’t get a lot of injuries and if players aren’t underperforming, be my most used formation. But like I said earlier, Walker will be placed on the bench for the coming games and O’Shea will be in the line up.
Thank you all for reading and please comment, those are always appreciated. Next post will be about the October-December period.
See y’all later! -Dezmo.
In today’s post you’ll find out if we’ve managed to get a CL spot or not!
League Fixtures
Not a bad period but I’m dissapointed with the performances in the big games. A home draw against Arsenal, isn’t that bad ofcourse but if we want to be a top team we need to win all our home games. A big defeat away to Man United, that is something that can happen. Man United needed to win that one to become champions, because it was the last game of the season. City was only 2 points behind so they were really sharp and were playing some amazing football and they became champions. The loss away to Everton is just bad. I did win that match actually, but a fatal mistake made me play it over and then we lost… Painful.
League Table
No CL spot
We gave it away in the final 2 matches, when we played 1-1 against Arsenal and lost to the champions. But a 5th place isn’t that bad, we will play Europa League next season and that is a nice chance to prove ourselves in Europe. Next season I want to qualify for the Champions League! What surprised me: Ipswich became 20th with only 9 points! They bought 62M worth of new players but were still really bad and the rich club will play Championship once again next season. I think they will invest like crazy this summer, become champions on the 2nd tier and then they will impress in the Premier League!
League Player Statistics
We’ve got the top goalscorer
Sanogo was incredible this season, with 28 goals by far the League top goalscorer and he also had the best average rating of all PL players and won the most MotM awards! And he’s only 20 years old! Incredible and I hope he will be even better in the coming season when he will develop into an even better player! Chadli became 6th in the assist list, not bad!
Awards: Premier League Team of the Year, Player’s Player of the year and Player’s Young Player
Sanogo was chosen in the PL squad of the year! Friedrich was one of the reserve players. So that means 2 QPR players are considered as one of the 18 best players in the league.. not bad but I hope more players will be part of this team next year!
Sanogo became 3rd in Player of the Year… I personally think he should be nr. one, considering that he is top goalscorer, most MotM awards and best average rating… But Torres and Di Maria ain’t bad either.
Chadli 3rd… No Sanogo? He’s only 20 and should’ve won this one without any doubt but isn’t even in the top 3? I can’t take this award seriously anymore.
Team statistics
Best 5 players of the season: Yaya Sanogo, Arne Friedrich, Nacer Chadli, Marc Albrighton and Adel Taarabt.
Worst 5 players of the season: Joey Barton, Matthew Connoly, Siem de Jong, Jack Collison, /
I’m really happy with the performances of those first 5 players, especially Sanogo and no explenation needed for that. However, Joey Barton showed his first signes of getting old this season. I will try to sell him this summer. I personally expected more from Matthew Connoly as stand-in for the central defenders. He will be sold as well. Siem de Jong and Jack Collison weren’t showing their full potential yet. I expect more from them but won’t sell them. I’m mostly dissapointed in Collison because I paid 11M for him. He really needs to improve next season. Jussi Jääskeläinen wasn’t really great either, but I’ve already signed a new GK for next season. Kyle Walker needs to improve as well next season. I paid 9M and expect much more from a DR like him, he has a lot of good qualitys and potential but wasn’t showing even half of that this season. I have confidence in him though.
Player of the Period
Just had to choose this wonderkid again. He’s amazing. France manager Laurent Blanc should give this PL topscorer a chance for the national team!
That was all for todays post, hope you enjoyed it. Next post will be about summer transfers for the 3rd season. Hope you will read that post as well
Thanks for reading!
Dezmo.
In this post I will tell you about my league + FA cup results in the January-March 2013 period. I’ve also bought 2 new players in the winter transfer period and sold 2 players.
Transfers
Kyle Walker is a very talented right back and has played for the English national team in RL recently. In my game he has been called up for the senior squad but hasn’t played yet. He is an amazing signing for us and is much better than Luke Young or Ondrej Kusnir. Cédric Bakambu is a talented striker and will be 3rd choice there behind Samuel Armenteros and Yaya Sanogo. I will upload the profiles of both players at the end of this post.
Jeroen Tesselaar (DL) was unhappy and because of bad performances, I decided to sell him. I bought him for 190K earlier so we’ve made a profit. Luis Morán (ST) sucks so I sold him. Also a small profit here: 6 months ago I paid 750K for him so I made a profit of 150K on him.
Premier League
Very impressive period, we managed to defeat our biggest rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with 4-1! I’d say that it is my best FM 2012 result so far. I’m really proud of my team, we managed to beat big teams like Chelsea and the Spurs and we still win every game against the weaker teams, really impressive how my team just stays focused and get the result we want. The match against Man City was very poor, but those things happen.
Let me show you the screenshot of the Chelsea match:
2 early goals by Beerens and Bjelland gave me a comfortable position and despite the countless Chelsea attacks that followed, we managed to stay up front and even score the 0-3 with Jack Collison. The second half was boring: Chelsea looked like they gave up. Torres did score but Chelsea never really impressed in that 2nd half. A couple of minutes before the last whistle Sanogo even scored 1-4 and made things worse for our biggest rival!
The league table:
In 4th position! If we can keep this, we will go into Champions League! That would be amazing
FA Cup
Still no cup for us… York was easily beaten (I was angry though because of 2 goals conceded..) and West Ham wasn’t that hard either, but Liverpool were too strong and managed to beat us at Loftus Road.. They did deserve it. We fought our way back from 0-2 behind to 2-2, but Liverpool took over again and scored 3-2 via Luis Suarez. We got knocked out by the same team as last year!!
Player statistics
I have 2 amazing strikers. If superstar Sanogo can’t play because of an injury or something, Armenteros takes over and is just as good! Friedrich and Chadli are also very good and the others are very constant. Walker is playing good for us, there is room for improvement but he ain’t bad!
Player of the Period
Nacer Chadli has been amazing for us this period with important goals and assists and good overall performances. Sanogo missed most of the games this month because of an injury but Chadli and also Samuel Armenteros stood up and we proved that we don’t rely on just Sanogo. I hope Nacer will keep this up!
Profiles of new players
Here are, like I promised, the profiles of Bakambu and Walker:
Nice, cheap backup striker with good potential. Only 625K because of expiring contract!
Awesome DR for us, did cost us some money but hopefully totally worth it! A 7.02 in his first 10 matches isn’t bad but I hope he’ll improve in the rest of the season. I really like the fact that he is really quick!
So that was all for now! See y’all later!
Dezmo.
Today I will show you how my last league game of November and all my December games went.
Very good end of the year for us, we managed to win against all the weaker teams and get 1 point out of the 2 big games. I’m happy with the team performance in these matches and Sanogo impressed once again with 9 goals in 8 matches!
Now let’s have a look at the table: did we climb or did we fall?
Yay
We climbed a bit from 6th to 5th and Liverpool and Arsenal are too far behind to pass me even if they win their extra game. 5th is great and I hope we can keep this in the 2nd half of the season.
Individual statistics:
Sanogo is world class, he’s just incredibly good! Friedrich is very constant in the defense and players like Chadli and Diamé are great as well. Andreas Bjelland has fallen back a bit: some sloppy defending from him cost us some against goals but I still trust him and he’ll still be in my starting 11 in the coming months, unless he gets a serious injury or something..
Player of the Period:
I decided to change language to English for this screenshot, otherwise you wouldn’t understand anything about his stats
He’s incredible. After buying him in my first season for 3M, he was only rated 1.5* at that time. Bad performances by DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd gave the young French striker the chance to get himself in the picture and he did well: he scored 8 goals in 20 matches last season and developed quickly to a 3* rating with 5* potential. This season he’s the number 1 striker and he scores a lot: 17 goals in 18 appearances! Absolutely brilliant! With these numbers he is the PL top goal scorer of the first half of this season, Edin Dzeko is the only one with the same number of goals but he needed 20 appearances for that!
That’s all for today’s post, next post will be about January transfer activity and PL+FA Cup results from January till March!
See y’all later!
